Market Time
Fat, juicy strawberries and plump ripe tomatoes are my favorite foods in the spring! And, my favorite place to be (besides home) is at the Farmers Market! If you've ever taken an hour or so to shop at a large farmers market around town, you know what I'm talking about. You can smell the fresh produce, the sausage cooking, the freshly baked breads and all kinds of other mouth-watering treats as soon as you park the car. The atmosphere, the people, the food, the great outdoors- what's not to love about the market?!
Since August of 2011, I've been attending a couple of markets as a vendor. It's been a wonderful experience. I started out at Pepper Place, then last year, The Summit opened up a market. A friend of mine told me about it and who to contact, so I did. A lot of other opportunities have opened up to me because of the markets. There's no way to list all the good things that have come to us. I can say, without hesitation, I've been blessed with strength, determination, and a sense of accomplishment over the past two years.
Baking is time consuming and labor intensive, but rewarding in so many ways.
A few years ago, I could not have imagined I would be physically able to work as I do now. Somehow, miracles began to happen, and I've been healed in many ways. I still suffer from fatigue and pain, but it's manageable now. I couldn't say that six or seven years ago. What a difference from then to now....
Back to market talk :) Pepper Place opened the Spring market on Saturday, April 13, and the Summer market opened this past Saturday, May 11. The Summit market opens this coming Thursday, May 16. In a semi-conscious state, I signed up for both! Don't ask me how that will go, just let me tell you about it next Sunday, after I've done them both in the same week! Okay? Okay ;) I know, I'm a little crazy.
Let me just say, I LOVE market time now!
With love,
Darlene
